Warmth, comfort and belonging are at the heart of our promise at West Seattle Realty. Our first priority is understanding your values, working style and preferences. We need to know who you are and what you care about before we can recommend solutions. Once the goals are clear, we’re on it.
Think of us as your “wing man,” the person you want on your side when the going gets rough, the friend with good advice when it really counts, the ally who can activate an army of experts or pinpoint the perfect resource when fixes need to happen fast.
Looking for a new home or getting ready to sell the one you live in now is an arduous journey, exciting yet exhausting. We know how to make the process easier. Let us accelerate your success in getting the right deal done by applying our real estate expertise and intimate knowledge of the local market here in West Seattle and neighboring communities, such as Burien, Georgetown, South Park and Beacon Hill.
Shelby White, Founder & Broker
My passion for West Seattle spans two decades, that’s how long I’ve been exploring the quirky personality and places that define this great community. I started West Seattle Realty because I wanted to offer specialized local service and operate at a scale that enabled a high level of accessibility for clients. Those values infuse everything we do today. I know that the most rewarding way to help clients is working side by side.
Through focused marketing and sales strategies, I’m keen to optimize your opportunities within the strike zone of your goals. If you’re selling a home, I can bring in just the right contractors to get it ready for market, from a handyman or yard service to a solid crew of skilled craftsmen. On the buyer’s side, we know the area inside and out so we’re able to educate you about local market conditions, then quickly identify desirable properties, negotiate the best value and assure you don’t overpay. I also reach out to a tight-knit team of colleagues and advisors who come to the rescue in getting financial paperwork in order, facilitating pre-approval or otherwise enhancing your readiness to make an offer or close a deal.
On a personal note, my wife, Nancy, and I live in the Admiral District. Our two children, Makenzie and Lewis, attend our local public school. I enjoy contributing to organizations that provide educational, recreational and community-building opportunities for our young people. Over the years, I’ve grown particularly proud of my associations with the Lafayette Elementary School Playground Committee and PTA, YMCA Adventure Guides and West Seattle Soccer Club.
Mark Jacobsen, Real Estate Agent
My experience in the real estate industry covers many aspects of the business. My expertise includes appraisals, mortgage loans, secondary marketing, land development, investment, foreclosures and real estate brokerage.
I first got into the real estate business in 1996 as a mortgage loan officer and my curiosity expanded over the years. In addition to working with homebuyers, I began working with builders and land developers in 2004, helping them finance land projects. I acquired my real estate license in February, 2007, and transitioned to working as a full time real estate agent in 2008.
My focus is client advocacy at every level. Given my experience as a loan officer, I’m able to bring unique insight into the process of financing a home, which enhances my skills in helping home buyers through that process. My drive for keeping up on the inventory and understanding the nuances of each neighborhood enables me to find the right fit for buyers quickly. This market knowledge also helps sellers price their homes correctly and accelerate the sale.
In my spare time, I teach home-buying classes in the community, including those sponsored by the Washington State Housing and Finance Commission. When clients are well-prepared, they make good choices. I’m ready to help!
